What is a Sentence:

A grouping of the word that describes an entire idea or thinking is called a sentence.
Examples:
  1. Ronnie swims in the pool.
  2. Anderson speaks English like a pro.
  3. The girl tried her best to win the prize but failed.

The above collection of words “Ronnie swims in the pool” describes a whole scenario, therefore, it is a sentence. A sentence should start with a capital letter & ends with a question mark or a full stop.

Kinds of sentences:
There are four kinds of sentences.

  • Assertive/Declarative Sentence


A sentence which makes an announcement or statement is called a Declarative sentence. Declarative sentences end with a full stop.
Examples:
  1. They will tour the Old book stalls soon after the Spring Admissions.
  2. She will slap her son if he teased you this time.
  3. The Boxing champion trophy was called off due to the political tension in the country.

  • Interrogative Sentence


A sentence that demands, ask questions and ends with question marks is called interrogative sentences.
Examples:
Why is she not responding to his messages?
 Does he use that old laptop?
Will she make her debut to the leading film industry of the country this season?

  • Imperative Sentence


A sentence that describes a demand, Order, domination or suggestion is called an imperative sentence.
Examples:
  1. keep all the protesters away from my office.  (An order)
  2. Please pay my electric gas bill this time.  (A demand)
  3. You can buy that red car instead of this one. (A suggestion)


  • Exclamatory Sentence


A sentence that describes well-built thoughts or feelings is known an exclamatory sentence. Such sentences describe revelation, happiness, distress, admiration, irritation, annoyance, etc. The exclamatory clauses (sentences) ends with an exclamation mark (!).
Examples:
  1. How you made it possible!
  2. This is unbelievable!
  3. Hurrah! She passed the tough English grammar paper!
  4. This is not cute!

Class9: Parts of Speech - What is an Interjection?

After Learning all the Basics and Advance parts of speech, such as Verbs, Proverbs, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Adverbs, Noun and all the Other Major Parts in the previous eight Classes, Today in Our Final Class of Parts of Speech we will learn the Final part of Speech which is Interjection.

What is an interjection?

Interjections are those words which Express Feelings and Sentiments. The Feelings may be Gladness, Sadness, Shock or Wonderful.
For Example:
  1. Yeah! I Passed my English Paper.
  2. Hurrah! We won Once Again.
  3. Oh! That is Unbelievable.
  4. Ah! This Painful.
  5. bravo! He is back with more strength this Time.
In the Above Given Lines the Words Yeah, Hurrah, Oh, Ah, and Bravo are the interjections because it Express the Feelings of Some One.

We Use Different Expressions for Each Feeling.
For Example: When We feel Happy we use the Words like 'Hurrah' and 'Wow' Etc.
When we Feel Sorrow we use the Words like 'OMG' and 'Ah' etc.
When we Feeling Wonderful we use the Words like 'Really' and 'What' etc.
When we get Achievements or Success we use the Words like 'Good' & 'Well done' etc.
When we Try to get Some Ones Attraction we use the Words 'Hello' and 'Hey' Etc.

There are many other Such words we use for our Feelings in our Local Languages but those Words are not Applicable to be Called Interjections because in English Grammar we Use Only those words which are a part of the English Vocabulary.

What is a Conjunction?

Conjunctions are those words which Connects or Binds two Words or Two Sentences. In other Words, we Can Say Conjunction are also those words which act like a bonding force between two Words or Sentences. The Following are some of the Examples of Conjunction words.
  1. Miley and I are Class fellow.
  2. Rahul Visits my House Everday because he Loves me.
  3. I will study till I Learn Parts of Speech.
In the Above Given three Examples the words And, because and Till are Conjunction because its Binds the Words in the Sentence.
The Following are Some of the most Important and Commonly use Conjunctions which we use in a sentence for binding words.
  1. And
  2. Till
  3. Because
  4. Before
  5. Or
  6. If
  7. When
We also have some Complex type of Conjunctions which we use in form of Pairs such as 
  1. Either, or
  2. Although, Yet
  3. Neither, Nor
Now we are going to use each of this Conjunction in the Sentences.
  1. Ali and Aliza Playing tennis.
  2. I will be Writing till Morning.
  3. I failed because I do not work Hard.
  4. Complete the Homework Before  Mom come Home.
  5. Who is your Favorite? John Or smith?
  6. I will visit Korea if I got my Visa Approved.
  7. He will call me when he Arrive at the California.
  8. Either Kick it or Accept it.
  9. Although it was very tough Exam, Yet he Managed to Pass it.
  10. Neither they Coming here, Nor we Going There.
In the Above Lines, we use all the Conjunctions including Complex Conjunctions.

Now we will Discuss some other Types of Conjunction which Makes Bond Between the two Sentences and those Conjunctions are
  1. Who
  2. Whose
  3. Whom

  • Use of Who
We use Who to manage the Pronoun of two Different Sentences in One sentence. For Example
Separate Sentence: This is Marlin. Marlin repaired my Laptop.
Combined Sentence: This is Marlin who repaired my Laptop.
Separate Sentence: This is the Girl. She Topped my Class.
Combine Sentence: This is the Girl who topped my Class.

  • Use of Whose
Separate Sentence: She is Selena. Her Husband Died in the Road Accident.
Combined Sentence: She is Selena Whose Husband died in the Road Accident.
Separate Sentence: This is Punk. His Young Brother Scored Many Goals in Friday's match.
Combine Sentence: This is Punk Whose Brother Scored Many goals in Friday's Match.

  • Use of Whom

Separate Sentence: This is the Boy. I saw him this Sunday at the Gym Club.
Combined Sentence: This is the Boy whom I Saw this Sunday at the Gym Club.

What is a Preposition? 

Proposition are those words which we use Before a noun or Pronoun in a sentence and link it with other Noun or Pronoun in the Sentence. For Example
  1. Alisha is Bathing under the Waterfall.
  2. Tomy is Playing outside the House.
In the Above, Example Under and Outside are the Prepositions because it makes a link with the Noun Waterfall and house.
Now we Will define, Identify, and Use some of the very Common propositions in the Sentences. Have a look here.

Uses of Preposition:

The Following Words are commonly used Prepositions.
  1. In
  2. At
  3. Into
  4. Among
  5. Between
  6. After
Now we will use each of the Preposition in the Sentences to make its use easy for you.

  • Use of IN

  1. Marina lives in Kenya.
  2. They will reach in three Hours.
  3. We were all laughing all the way in the Car.
In the Above Sentences, the Preposition IN makes a bond with Noun. (Prepositions are words which we use before a noun or pronoun and bond it with another noun or pronoun).

  • Use of  AT

  1. We are going for a Rugby match at 4 PM.
  2. I will try to meet you at Aukland.
  3. She told me that they will be in the party at 6 AM.

In the Above Sentences, the word AT is Preposition.

  • Use of INTO

She jumped into Pool from a 20-meter height.
They will reach into  the Semifinal Successfully.


  • Use of After
  1. Warner Arrived in two hours after the Party.
  2. Smith will Visit Northern Pakistan after his MBBS Exams.
  3. I will marry her after my Mom returns from Morroco.

  • Use of Among & Between

we use the Prepositions 'Among' and 'between' when we match or Compare two things. 
For Example:
  1. Today's Match is between Srilanka and China.
  2. Who's Best Among John Cena & Randy Orton?

In the Above Sentences, the Words Among and Between are the Prepositions.

  • Use of ON 
  1. The Boy riding on a Brown Horse.
  2. The Girl Dancing on Stage.

  • Use of FOR and SINCE

We use the Preposition 'For' the time, which is not known.
For Example:
  1. Micheal Running for five Hours. 
  2. Randy studies daily for almost three hours.
In this sentence, the time is not known that for which five Hours?
While we use 'Since' for the time, which is Known.
For Example: 
  1. Ali Runs in this ground since 2005.
  2. She has suffered in Breast Cancer Since last Six months.

After a brief  Lesson on Verb and its types, Today we will be Studying another very important part of Speech which is Adverb and Kinds of Adverb.

What is The Adverb?
  1. John Runs very Fast.
  1. Anna is too much Intelligent.
  1. Henderson Sings Beautifully.
What are the Different Kinds of the Adverb?
  • Adverb of manner:  
Adverb of Manners Explains us about the Happening of Something. Such Adverbs comes into existence from the Combination of Adjection with the World LY. For Example Continous+Ly makes Continuously, Accident+Ly makes Accidently. We use the Adverb of a manner in a sentence like this
  1. He worked for six hours Continuously.
  1. He Got Injuries in a car Accident very Badly.
  1. He was singing Frequently for two Hours.
  • Adverb of Quantity: 
Adverb of Quantity tells us about the current Position and Quantity of a thing or work. For Example
  1. His Story is totally Unbelievable.
  1. She Shoots Accurately.
  1. They are Quite Wrong.
  • Adverb of Place: 
Adverb of Place Shows the Place where something is happening. For Example:
  1. They all Went to Zoo
  1. She is in the hostel for the Past six months.
  1. John Playing in the Cricket Ground.

  • Adverb of Time:

Adverb of time Explains The Time of something Happening. For Example
  1. He Passed her O Level Exam 2 Years Ago.
  1. She got married soon after Completion of her Graduation.
  1. Henderson Live in South Africa since 2001.

  • Adverb of Number: 
Adverb of Number shows how many times a thing or work happened. For Example
  1. She Failed her English Paper thrice.
  1. They will be Visiting the Valley again this December.
  1. Ali visits his Friends twice a day.


  • Interrogative Adverb: 
A type of Adverb which we Majorly use for A asking a question. For Example:
  1. How can you say this?
  1. Did she Arrive late at night?
  1. Will he Make to Hollywood this Season?
  • Relative Adverb:
Such type of Adverbs works as a binding force between the two Clauses. For Example:
  1. I know, you Can't do this Easily.
  1. She Told me, he will not come today.
  1. After Arriving in Moscow, They Welcomed Me with Open heart.
Final Words: The adverb is a word which strengthens and Explain the Meaning of a fellow Adverb or verb.
For Example:
In the Above Examples, the Words such Very,  Too Much and Beautifully Explains the meaning of the Verb Fast, Intelligent and Sings.
After Defining Adverb now, we will explain all the major Kinds of Adverb which are the Following.
The Words Continuously, Badly and Frequently Explains the Happening of Somethings in the Above sentences so these words are the Adverb of Manner in the Above examples.In the above Three Lines, the Adverb of Quality is Prominent. Class5: Parts of Speech - Verb and types of Verb

In Our Previous Class of Parts of Speech, we Learn About the Kinds and the usage of Adjective with Examples. Today we will Learn About Verb and types of Verb In Detail.

What is a verb?

A word Which Shows an Activity in a Sentence. For Example
  1. John is Going to His New School.
  2. Jennifer Doing morning Walk.
  3. Henderson Eating Apples.
  4. Ali Playing in the Street.
In the Above Lines Going, Doing, Eating, and Playing are the Verbs because all these Words Shows an Activity.
Always Remember that A Sentence never Completes without a Verb that why it's called the Heart of A sentence. Verb Should be Used After the Subject.

Types of Verb:

Based on Subject & Object the verb has been divided into two main Types which are Intransitive & Transitive Verbs.

  • Intransitive Verb: A type of Verb which don't need the Help of a preposition or Helping verb to a Complete a sentence. Intransitive verb just Need a Noun to complete a sentence. For Example.
  1. Play Guitar
  2. Enjoy Music

  • Transitive Verb: A type of verb which requires a Helping Verb or Preposition to Complete a sentence. For Example:


  1. Please Eat the Banana.
  2. She is not a good swimmer.
  3. He will pass the Exam this Month.

In the Above Lines the Preposition/helping verbs The, is, Will helps the Transitive Verb to Complete a sentence.

Some of the Other recommended kinds of Verbs are the Following.

  • Helping Verb: Helping Verb Functions like a Backing a support for the main Verb in A sentence. Helping Verb Defines the Activity and Specialty of the Main Verb. For Example
  1. He is a master of Cycling.
  2. She has no Boyfriend.
  3. They are Playing Opposite to the Main Stadium.
In the Above Given Sentences Is, Has and Are are Helping verbs.
Some of the Commonly used Helping verbs are Is-was-were-are-may-should-will & Would.

  • Stative Verb: This type of Verb Defines the Circumstances, Position or Situation of  a Person or thing. For Example
  1. This Girl looks Lazy.
  2. Traffic is Annoying, these Days.
  3. The Nurses have not struck since 5 days.
In the above Sentences the Words Looks, These and Since are the Stative verb.

What is an Adjective?

The adjective is a word which Admire or Defame a Noun or Pronoun or Show it's Quality or Quantity. For Example.
  1. Madonna is a Smart Girl.
  2. We have ten Professional Players in our Hockey team.
  3. John is A fat Boy.
  4. Aliza is a Talented Swimming Star.
In the Above Lines Smart, Ten, Fat and Talented are Adjectives Because these words are Admiring, Defaming a noun or Pronouns or Showing its Quality or Quantity.

Kinds of Adjectives:

In English Parts of Speech, the Adjective has five Different kinds which are the Following.

  • The Adjective of Quality: Those words which show the Personal Goodness or Badness of a Noun or Pronoun. For Example.
  1. Ayesha is A good Girl
  2. Marina is Very Bad in English parts of Speech.
  3. Micheal is a Talented Cricketer.
  4. He has a very Respected Personality.
In the Above Sentences the Words Good, Bad, Talented, Respected are the Adjective of Quality Because these words show the Personal Quality of a noun Or Pronoun.

  • The Adjective of Quantity: Adjective of Quantity shows the Quantity of a thing or Persons. For Example..
  1. They were Four People.
  2. That water is not Enough to Swim.
  3. Juice Glass is very Little.
  4. I have a lot of Money.
In the Above Lines the Words Four, Enough, Little and A lot are the Adjectives of Quantity because it shows the Quantity of the Things.

  • The Adjective of Number: An Adjective which shows the Numbers of a thing or Persons. For Example..
  1. John Scored 4 Goals.
  2. She got 400 Marks.
  3. I have only 2 Friends in my Class.
In the Above Sentences the Numbers 4, 400 and 2 are Adjectives of Number Because it shows the Numbers of things or Persons.

  • Demonstrative Adjective: A Type of adjective which points towards a noun. For Example
  1. That is my old car.
  2. This is my favorite book.
  3. Those girls are good dancers.
  4. She is my girlfriend.
In the Above sentences the words That, This, Those and She is the Demonstrative Adjective because these words point towards a noun.

  • Possessive Adjective: Those Adjectives which Claim the Ownership of a Noun or a Place. For Example
  1. This is my Football T-shirt.
  2. That Girl is my Sister.

Class3: Parts of Speech - Pronoun and Kinds of Pronoun

In our Earlier Class we Study About the names of the Eight Parts of Speech and 3 Cases of Noun while Today in our Third Class we Will Learn About Pronoun and Kinds of Pronoun.

What is a Pronoun?

The pronoun is the Words we use Instead of Names (Nouns).
For Example: 
Marina Speaks English Fluently.
Pronoun: She (marina) Speaks English Fluently.
The Word She is used instead of Noun (Marina) so She is the Pronoun in this Sentence. So All those Words which we Use Instead of A name are the Pronouns.
Another Example:
Russians are very Good in English Grammar.
They (Russians) are very Good in English Grammar.
In this Sentence 'They' is a Pronoun Because it is used to In Place of a Noun 'Australia'.

Kinds of Pronoun: There are Nine different kinds of Pronoun which are the Following.


  • Personal Pronoun:

Personal Pronoun is Divided into three Parts.
First Person: The One who Speaks is the First Peron. Such Pronoun is Identified by Words I, Me, Us, We in a Sentence.
For Example:
  1. I am studying the Kinds of Pronoun.
  2. This is my New English Book.
  3. We are Playing Tennis.
In the Above Three Sentences I, MY & WE are the First Persons. (We, Us are Used for Plural).
Second Person: The Person who Speaks to You is the Second Person. Second Person Pronoun is identified by Words 'You &Your' in a sentence.
For Example:
  1. You are Very Weak in Parts of Speech.
  2. Your Daughter is very Good in English Tenses.
In the Above Sentences, the Words You and 'Your' are Second Person Pronoun.
Third person: When we Talk about some One else in their Absence. Third Person Singulars are Identified by HE, SHE, IT while Third Persons Plural is Identified by THEM, THEIR, THEY in a sentence.
For Example:
  1. He is a very Good Sportsman.
  2. They are Very Good in Learning and writing.
  3. Their College is 5km Away from the Village.
In the Above Sentences the Words HE, THEY, THEIR are third person Pronoun.

  • Reflexive Pronoun: Reflex pronoun is Used with Noun (Name) or with the Pronouns in the form of SELF or SELVES such as himself, themselves, herself. Reflex Noun is usually used when Something Happens to Ourself. For Example:

  1. Ayesha Learn All kinds of Pronoun herself.
  2. He told me all the Story himself.
In the Above two Examples, Herself and Himself are Reflexive Nouns.

  • Emphatic Pronoun: Emphatic Pronoun is same Like Reflexive Pronoun, The Only difference is that in Emphatic Pronouns we Force a person to do something Herself, themselves or himself. For Example

  1. You have to Learn parts of Speech Yourself.
  2. She will pass the English grammar paper Herself.
  3. They must Clean all the Dust themselves.

  • Demonstrative Pronoun: A Pronoun which Points Something, People or Places. Demonstrative Pronoun is identified by the Words like That, Those, These. This in a Sentence. For Example

  1. That is my English Teacher.
  2. This is my New English Grammar Article.
  3. Those who try again always win.
In the Above three Sentences That, This and Those are Demonstrative Pronouns.

  • Indefinite Pronoun: Some of the Commonly used Indefinite Pronouns are Nobody, Somebody, Someone, few, Everybody etc. When we Prefer Individuals or Group of People without Exposing their Identity. For Example

  1. Someone Knocked at my Door late night.
  2. Everyone Enjoyed the Opening Ceremony of FIFA world cup.
  3. Nobody arrived on time.

In the Above Sentences Someone, Everyone and Nobody are indefinite Pronouns.

  • Distributive Pronoun: A Pronoun which shows a group of People or things, but gives a Singular Meaning at a time. For Example

  1. Each of the Boys has Football.
  2. Either of these Earphones is Best.

In the Above two Sentences, the Words Each and Either gives a singular Meaning, so these words are Distributive Pronouns in these sentences.

  • Possessive Pronoun: A pronoun which Claim the Ownership or Authority of A place or thing. For Example

  1. That English Grammar Magzine is mine.
  2. This is my New house.
  3. Both of My Puppies are Very Naughty.

  • Interrogative Pronoun: A type of Pronoun which is Used for Asking a Question. Such Pronouns are identified by Words such as Whose, Whom, which, Who etc. For Example:

  1. whose Pen is this?
  2. To Whom this Book Belong to?
  3. Which English Grammar Book is Best?
    In the Above Sentences the Words WHOSEWHOM and WHICH is Interrogative Pronouns.

    • Relative Pronoun: Relative is a type of Pronoun which we use for a noun we already have discussed. For Example

    1. My Aunty who Travelled North Korea Returned.
    2. My Younger Sister who was Born in Canada Passed her O Level Exam.

    Final Words:

    • London- It's Noun because it's a name of a City.
    So All the Names in the Universe are Called Noun in English Grammar. The noun is one of the Most importantly Icon of Parts of Speech. The Noun is Further Divided into Five SubParts which are
    1. Common Noun: Common Noun Means Name of a Common thing. It may be the name of a common Person, it may the Name of a common thing or Place. For Example Lady, pen, School, Chair, Cat etc.
    2. Proper Noun: Proper Noun means the names of uncommon things, People or Places. For Example The New york City, Selena Gomez, Lionel Messi Etc.
    3. Collective Noun: Collective Noun Means the Names use for a group or Crowd of People. For Example The British Army, The US Football Team, Indian National Congress Party, The Republicans Etc.
    4. Material Noun: Material Noun is used for all Liquid and materialistic things such as Water, Gold, Diamonds, Silver etc.
    5. Abstract Noun: The name used for the Expressing Speciality or Sensitivity of a thing. For Example Great, Beautiful, Death etc.

    Three Cases of Noun:

    In English Grammar, There are 3 Cases of Noun which are Nominative Case, Possessive Case & Objective Case.
    1. Nominative Case: This Case is Usually Used for a Noun (Name) or Pronoun (Terms used instead of Name) which is Used as A subject of A sentence. For Example Liza Eats an Apple. (The Noun Liza is the Nominative Case in this Sentence). He has been singing at Party (The Pronoun he is the Nominative Case in this Sentence).
    2. Objective Case: This Case is Used for a Name (Noun) or Pronoun (He, she, they, our) which is Used as Object in A sentence. For Example, Three Goals Scored by Ronaldo. (Noun Ronaldo is the Objective Case in this Sentence. John Learning English Grammar Online from His British-German Teacher. (Pronoun His is the Objective Case in this Sentence). Marina Playing Guitar with herself. (Pronoun She is the Objective Case in this Sentence). Keep in Mind that in Objective Case Effects Personal Pronouns (He, she, we, they), as you see in the Above Sentence Pronoun Herself changed to Pronoun She, Other Pronouns like He will Change to Him and Him to His Accordingly.
    3. Possessive Case: All those Nouns or Pronouns which Claim Ownership or Authority. For Example, this is my Boyfriend. (Pronoun My is the possessive case in this sentence). Selena's new house is Awesome (Noun Selena's possessive case in this sentence). Possessive Case is Usually Identified by By (') with Noun or Pronoun and Ends with (s) Sound. For Example Selena's, He's, Maria's etc.

    Class1: Basic Parts of Speech - Vowels, Articles, Silent Words and Consonants

    Parts of Speech is one of the Most Important Part of English Grammar, Without Knowing Parts of Speech Properly One Simply Can't Write or Spoke Grammatically Approved and Recognized English.

    In today's Lesson, I will Teach you the Basic Icons of Parts of Speech which Includes Vowels, Articles & Consonants

    • Vowels:


    Vowels are the name of five Alphabets, which is A-E-I-O-U. These Five Alphabets are Widely Used in the English Vocabulary and work as A binding Force Between the Alphabets.

    • Consonants:


    Consonants are the Name of 21 Alphabets, which includes all the English Alphabets Except Vowels (B-C-D-F-G-H-J-K-L-M-N-P-Q-R-S-T-V-W-X-Y-Z). Consonants give Different Tone when we use it Individually but When we use it in a word it Gives Different Pronunciation. 
    For Example:
    B: Birthday, Baby, Ball, Boy Etc
    C: Cat, Cart, Car Etc
    D: Doll, Dawn Etc



    • Silent Words: 


    Silent Words are those Words which we use to Write, but we Ignore to read and Speak it, Such Words are Called Silent Words. The Following are some of the Commonly used Silent Words.
    Psychology - In the word Psychology (P) is silent.
    Bright - In the Word Bright (G) is silent.
    Knowledge - In the Word Knowledge (D, K) is Silent.

    There are Many other Words such as Hour, write and many other words, in which we Use to Write Silent words.


    • Articles: 


    Often in Conversations we use the Words A, An, The These three words are Called Articles. We use Articles before Noun or Pronoun in a Sentence. The Articles are of two Types

    • Indefinite Article: 

    Indefinite Article shows Nonspecific Common Things. A is used for all Single Common things such as A car, A girl, A boy, etc. while AN is used before all the Words which Starts with Vowels (A-E-I-O-U) such an An Elephant, An Apple Etc.

    •  Definite Article: 

    Definite Article Shows a Specific Person, Place, Book or thing. We use THE Before every Specific or Special thing, Person or Book such as The holly Bible, The Holly Quran, The Holly Geeta, The Mountains, the Rivers ETC. The is also used with superlative Adjectives such as The Sweetest, the Darkest, The Fastest etc.
