Class2: 8 Parts of Speech - Three Cases of Noun

In the First Class, we Discuss the Basic Components of Parts of Speech which are Vowels, Articles, Consonants and Silent Words while today in the Second Class we will Learn The 8 Parts of Speech, Noun and three Cases of Noun.

What is a Noun?

Every name is a Noun, It may be The Name of a Person, it may be the name of a Place or Animal.
For Example:
  •  Jennifer Lopez - It's a Noun because its a Name of a Girl.
  • Tiger- it's a Noun Because it's a name of Animal.
  • London- It's Noun because it's a name of a City.
So All the Names in the Universe are Called Noun in English Grammar. The noun is one of the Most importantly Icon of Parts of Speech. The Noun is Further Divided into Five SubParts which are
  1. Common Noun: Common Noun Means Name of a Common thing. It may be the name of a common Person, it may the Name of a common thing or Place. For Example Lady, pen, School, Chair, Cat etc.
  2. Proper Noun: Proper Noun means the names of uncommon things, People or Places. For Example The New york City, Selena Gomez, Lionel Messi Etc.
  3. Collective Noun: Collective Noun Means the Names use for a group or Crowd of People. For Example The British Army, The US Football Team, Indian National Congress Party, The Republicans Etc.
  4. Material Noun: Material Noun is used for all Liquid and materialistic things such as Water, Gold, Diamonds, Silver etc.
  5. Abstract Noun: The name used for the Expressing Speciality or Sensitivity of a thing. For Example Great, Beautiful, Death etc.

Three Cases of Noun:

In English Grammar, There are 3 Cases of Noun which are Nominative Case, Possessive Case & Objective Case.
  1. Nominative Case: This Case is Usually Used for a Noun (Name) or Pronoun (Terms used instead of Name) which is Used as A subject of A sentence. For Example Liza Eats an Apple. (The Noun Liza is the Nominative Case in this Sentence). He has been singing at Party (The Pronoun he is the Nominative Case in this Sentence).
  2. Objective Case: This Case is Used for a Name (Noun) or Pronoun (He, she, they, our) which is Used as Object in A sentence. For Example, Three Goals Scored by Ronaldo. (Noun Ronaldo is the Objective Case in this Sentence. John Learning English Grammar Online from His British-German Teacher. (Pronoun His is the Objective Case in this Sentence). Marina Playing Guitar with herself. (Pronoun She is the Objective Case in this Sentence). Keep in Mind that in Objective Case Effects Personal Pronouns (He, she, we, they), as you see in the Above Sentence Pronoun Herself changed to Pronoun She, Other Pronouns like He will Change to Him and Him to His Accordingly.
  3. Possessive Case: All those Nouns or Pronouns which Claim Ownership or Authority. For Example, this is my Boyfriend. (Pronoun My is the possessive case in this sentence). Selena's new house is Awesome (Noun Selena's possessive case in this sentence). Possessive Case is Usually Identified by By (') with Noun or Pronoun and Ends with (s) Sound. For Example Selena's, He's, Maria's etc.
