Class8: Parts of Speech - Conjunctions and uses of Conjunctions

After Brief Lesson on Preposition, Today we Will Discuss Another Important part of Speech which is Conjunction and the Uses of Conjunction.

What is a Conjunction?

Conjunctions are those words which Connects or Binds two Words or Two Sentences. In other Words, we Can Say Conjunction are also those words which act like a bonding force between two Words or Sentences. The Following are some of the Examples of Conjunction words.
  1. Miley and I are Class fellow.
  2. Rahul Visits my House Everday because he Loves me.
  3. I will study till I Learn Parts of Speech.
In the Above Given three Examples the words And, because and Till are Conjunction because its Binds the Words in the Sentence.
The Following are Some of the most Important and Commonly use Conjunctions which we use in a sentence for binding words.
  1. And
  2. Till
  3. Because
  4. Before
  5. Or
  6. If
  7. When
We also have some Complex type of Conjunctions which we use in form of Pairs such as 
  1. Either, or
  2. Although, Yet
  3. Neither, Nor
Now we are going to use each of this Conjunction in the Sentences.
  1. Ali and Aliza Playing tennis.
  2. I will be Writing till Morning.
  3. I failed because I do not work Hard.
  4. Complete the Homework Before  Mom come Home.
  5. Who is your Favorite? John Or smith?
  6. I will visit Korea if I got my Visa Approved.
  7. He will call me when he Arrive at the California.
  8. Either Kick it or Accept it.
  9. Although it was very tough Exam, Yet he Managed to Pass it.
  10. Neither they Coming here, Nor we Going There.
In the Above Lines, we use all the Conjunctions including Complex Conjunctions.

Now we will Discuss some other Types of Conjunction which Makes Bond Between the two Sentences and those Conjunctions are
  1. Who
  2. Whose
  3. Whom

  • Use of Who
We use Who to manage the Pronoun of two Different Sentences in One sentence. For Example
Separate Sentence: This is Marlin. Marlin repaired my Laptop.
Combined Sentence: This is Marlin who repaired my Laptop.
Separate Sentence: This is the Girl. She Topped my Class.
Combine Sentence: This is the Girl who topped my Class.

  • Use of Whose
Separate Sentence: She is Selena. Her Husband Died in the Road Accident.
Combined Sentence: She is Selena Whose Husband died in the Road Accident.
Separate Sentence: This is Punk. His Young Brother Scored Many Goals in Friday's match.
Combine Sentence: This is Punk Whose Brother Scored Many goals in Friday's Match.

  • Use of Whom

Separate Sentence: This is the Boy. I saw him this Sunday at the Gym Club.
Combined Sentence: This is the Boy whom I Saw this Sunday at the Gym Club.
