In Present Perfect tense we Express/Show/Explain all those things/Works/Events which have started in the Past and has finished recently. For Example
  1. We have reached the Main Railway Station of the Old City.
  2. She has minimized her all bad habits.
  3. They have sold all of their Guitars.
The Above Sentences Clearly shows that the Works have finished recently.

Rules of Present Perfect Tense

In Present Perfect tense, we have to Remember two Things which are the Helping Verbs and the main verbs. We will use only two types of Helping Verbs the one is Has and the Other is Have while the only the third form of the verb will be used in the sentence. Have a look to the below given Formula
Subject+Has/Have+third form of the verb+Object
For Example:
  1. She has danced all the night.
  2. They have studied well for the Summer Exams.
  3. He has learned all the English tenses from his South African teacher.
In Above Examples, Has/have/has are the helping verbs, Danced/Studied/Learned are the main verbs with the third form of the verb.

Always remember there are two types of Present perfect tense, the One is Present perfect-Positive and the other is Present Perfect-Negative.
Present Perfect-Positive is that in which we do not ask any Question. In other words, all the Common/General sentences are Present Perfect-Positive. For Example
  1. She Has understood our thoughts.
  2. They have reached the New Royal Palace Across the Sea.
Present Perfect-Negative are all those Sentences in which we ask a Question or make an Objection. For Example
  1. Have you Kissed the new born Baby?
  2. he has not taken sun Bath yet.

  • Negative Case:
Now we will discuss the Negative Case/Sentences in the Present perfect tense with its rules.
In Negative Case with we use the Word Not after the helping verb has or Have while the third form of the verb will be not affected, Have a look to the formula given Below
Subject + Has/Have + Not + Third form of the verb + Object. For Example
  1. She has not swum in the dirty Canal.
  2. They have not teased her all the night.
  3. He has not won the Parents Day Speech competition.

  • Interrogative Case:
In the Interrogative Sentences we use the Helping Verbs (has/have) as the Subject of the Sentence while the Subject is used instead of the Helping verbs and Question Mark will be used at the end of the sentence. Have a look to the formula given Below
Has/Have + Helping verb (the subject of the positive sentence) + Third form of the verb + Object + Question Mark. For Example
  1. Has she cooked the Fish?
  2. Have they read the Newly publish English tenses Book?
