Today in the second lesson of English we will Discuss Present Tense.

What is Present Tense?

Present Tense Shows the Happening of a work or Even in the Present Time. 
Present tense has Four Conditions which are the Following.

Simple Present Tense:

Many People are confused about the Actual meaning and Function of Simple Present tense. A large number of People Believe that Simple Present tense Express or Show a thing or Event currently Happening, but it is totally Wrong. Simple Present Tense Never Means to Express a situation, Simple Present Tense is all about Habits, general & Univeral Truths, Repeating Activites, a Constant situation, and for Instructions. Have a look to the Examples Given below.
  1. Lion is one of the deadliest Animals. (Common truth)
  2. The Caribbean Sea is Very Deep. (Common truth)
  3. I Drink every Night. (Habit)
  4. I Run for three Hours Every Morning. (Habit)
  5. When you reach the Village, Ask the Clark to Call me. (Instruction)
  6. She is managing Director in the Tehran University. (Constant Situation)
  7. Smoking Kills. (Common truth).
  8. I read newspaper Daily. (Habit)
  9. Charlie goes to Scholl at 9 AM. (Constant situation, Habit)
After Explaining the Present tense with Examples now, we will learn about

Third Person Singular: 

Third Person Singular are all those Person whom we Talk about. He, She, It is the third Person Singulars. In Case of Third Person Singulars (he, she, it) we use S or ES with the Verb. For Example

  1. She Writes all the Nights.
  2. He Smiles.
  3. It Makes me laugh Every time.
Note: It is used for non-Living Third Person Singulars.

  • Negative Cases: 

In Negative Cases of third Person Singular (he, she, It) we do not use S and ES with the verb, but we increase the use of Helping verb 'Does' after the Subject. Here are some Examples:
  1. She does not walk in the Rain.
  2. He does not look sweet in his new dress.
  3. It  Does not look Strong.

  • Interrogative Cases:

In interrogative Cases of Third Person Singular, we use Does as the Subject of the Sentence while S and ES will not be used here with the verb. Here are some Examples
  1. Does Rihanna sing all the Night?
  2. Does it be made of Iron?
  3. Does she Swim Perfectly?

Second Person Singular:

Second Person Singular  is the Person who listens the First Person Singular. The Pronouns 'you' and 'Your' are the Second Person Singulars.
For Example: 
  1. You are a Good teacher.
  2. You Play Cricket very well.
  3. You are a good Dancer.
  • Negative Case:
  1. You are not a good Teacher.
  2. You do not Play cricket very Well.
  3. You are not a good Dancer.
  • Interrogative Cases:
  1. Are you a Good Teacher?
  2. Do You Play Cricket very Well?
  3. Are you a Good Dancer?

First Person Singular:

The Person who Speaks is the First Person Singular, Who listens is the Second Person Singular and to whom they talk about are the Third Person Singular.
The Pronouns 'I' and 'We' are first Person Singulars;
'I' is first Person Singular.
'We' is first Peron Plural.
Examples:
  1. I write a Mail to my Girlfriend.
  2. We are naughtier than them.
  • Negative Case:
  1. I do not write a mail to my Girlfriend.
  2. We are not naughtier than them.
  • Interrogative Cases:

Do I write a mail to my Girlfriend?
Are We Naughtier than them?
